Um Comma Jennifer Question Mark, the debut album from Um, Jennifer? is here, share "So Sick!" music video

Um, Jennifer? introduced themselves to the world in 2023 with “Girl Class,” a single that fully realized and perfectly encapsulated what the New York City-based duo of Elijah Scarpati and Fig Regan were all about: making rock music that was simultaneously serrated, sardonic and dead serious. The other thing it announced was that this was a band having fun. Their namesake is derived from a mythological deity they conjured up themselves whom they worship and sacrifice themselves to, and Her spirit was invoked by Scarpati and Regan in their “Band To Watch” feature published by Stereogum earlier this week. Last year, the band released their critically adored The Girl Class EP (Billboard, NYLON) and singles “Went on T” (The Line of Best Fit) and “Fishy” (Hearing Things, Ones To Watch).

The band is proud to release their highly anticipated debut album, Um Comma Jennifer Question Mark, via Final Girl Records, along with a new video to accompany its declarative opening salve, “So Sick!.” It follows previous singles “Delancey,” “Old Grimes,” and fan-favorite "Cut Me Open." The majority of the album was produced by Ariel Loh, who earlier this year became the first trans Asian recipient of a Grammy. Um Comma Jennifer Question Mark is also available on vinyl, the band’s first offering on the format. Final Girl Records partnered with Loh’s recently launched Trans Music Archive for their inaugural release, which seeks to preserve the legacy of trans musicians in physical format. Um, Jennifer? have also announced the launch of their Patreon where fans can keep up with the band, and for a limited time, be the first to exclusively view the album-length visual accompaniment to Um Comma Jennifer Question Mark, including never-before-seen footage and music videos written and directed by the band. Speaking on the launch, the band says “Um, Jennifer? presents a limited viewing of the full Um Comma Jenna Question Mark visual album. This is an exclusive first peek into the Jenniverse, offered only for a limited time to the real Jenheads. The visual album is a series of interconnected music videos that take us through the entire album, painting us a hallucinatory picture of what it’s like inside this world created by Fig, Eli, and Jennifer.
